TALRIK IITM 's & TJTM's MC68HC11 microcomputer system enjoys wide Freeware & commercial software support. Freeware compilers for C & BASIC as well as commercial compilers for C, BASIC, & FORTH are available. Motorola provides Freeware assembly language support & other vendors provide assembly language simulators. Interactive C (IC) does not run on TJTM, but it does run on all TALRIK IITM models & the TJ ProTM, as long as no servos on the bridge are connected. A commercial, Windows version of IC is now available from 1-888-Mr-Robot
TALRIK IITM & TJTM application packages, utilities, & hardware drivers are written in C & MC68HC11 assembly language. In order to download programs, TJTM requires PCBUG11, which is free.
Mr Robot sells the ImageCraft C (ICC11w) compiler & interactive development environment (IDE), C for DOS (ICC11d), & NewtonLab's Interactive C (IC-P & IC-S) & recommends that you purchase one with a TALRIK IITM or TJ Pro along with getting the high-speed downloader for downloading programs to your robot from within Win95/NT.
Motorola's MC68HC11 Assembler, & the PCBUG11 downloader are available via e-mail free of charge.
Languages available. Interactive C (Freeware & Commercial C interpreter), Imagecraft C (commercial C Compiler), PROGO (Sentence-based programming language), MC68HC11 Assembly Language (Freeware), sBASIC (Freeware BASIC), tinyFORTH (Freeware FORTH).

Platform Independent |
This self-contained wireless Color video module mounts on top of almost any robot. You can easily mount the camera & radio transmitter on the TALRIK IITM & TJTM, for instance. The USA (NTSC) version transmits a 900mhz signal up to 100 feet to your TV, VCR, or video capture board. The International (PAL) version transmits a 2.4 Ghz signal up to 300 feet to your TV, VCR, or video capture board. You can view the live Color transmissions from your robot's perspective while it explores "dangerous" environments or environments not normally accessible to you! |
MTJPRO11: Compact Microcontroller with 32Kbytes of SRAM. $134.95 Click here for Price List |
|
---|---|
The Mekatronix MTJPRO11 is one of the best 68HC11 Microcontrollers you can buy for
its price range. It has more features than Motorola's EVBU (Yes, even when you add
the ME11 expansion board to Motorola's EVBU, the MTJPRO11 comes out on top). This
board has a broad range of applications. Any project requiring a small, embedded
microcontoller will find the MTJPRO & ideal solution. Size: 2.5 inches by 2.5
inches. See product details for more info |
|
|
ME11: Expansion Board for Motorola's MC68HC11 EVBU. Starting at $48.95 Click here for Price List |
|
---|---|
The Mekatronix Expansion Board (ME11) mates with the Motorola MC68HC11 EVBU board to form a complete, control oriented microcomputer system. The photo on the left shows the ME11 attached to the underside of the Motorola EVBU board. The second photo, below, shows a fully populated ME11. Features that the ME11 expansion board adds to the EVBU include: |
MRC11: A Serious & Flexible microcontroller Starting at $79.95 Click here for Price List |
|
---|---|
See product details for more info |
The picture on the left shows an assembled MRC11 circuit board which consists of
an MC68HC11A1 processor with 64 KBytes of memory. Memory on the MRC11 board is physically
partitioned into two, 32 KBytes of storage. Either partition can be jumpered to accept
RAM or ROM. combinations. The MRC11 may function as a general purpose controller
for many applications. The MRC11 can be stacked with the MRSX01 circuit board to form a powerful controller with extensive Input/Output drive capability. The MRC11/MRSX01 board combination yields a complete robot microcontroller. (It operates as the brains & sense driver for the TALRIK IITM) . This board combination possesses general features useful for almost any microcontroller or mechatronic applications where programmable machine intelligence enhances performance. Together, the MRC11 processor-memory & the MB2325 serial communications circuit boards, far exceed, in function, Motorola's EVBU. &, of course the MRC11 stacked with the MRSX01 provides more features than the Motorola MC68HC11 EVBU stacked with the MekatronixTM ME11. |
MRSX01: Mekatronix Robot Sensor Expansion Module. Starting at $64.95 Click here for Price List. |
|
---|---|
The MRSX01 mates with the MRC11 to provide extensive sensor & control capabilities
for robotic & other mechatronic projects. (The two board stack, MRSX01 &
MRC11, furnishes the circuitry that supports all the sensory, motor, & cognitive
functions for the TALRIK IITM autonomous mobile robot we sell). See product details for more info |
MSCC11: A Single Chip MC68HC11 Microcontroller. Pick any Motorola MC68HC11 series microprocessor & plug it right into the MSCC11. The MC68HC11 processor is mounted in a 52-pin PLCC with headers connected to the processor ports. The MSCC11 realizes a single chip microcontroller & provides the following features:
|
---|
MB2325: Bidirectional Serial Communications Voltage Converter. Starting at $10.95 Click here for Price List. |
|
---|---|
See product details for more info |
The MB2325 module permits the user to physically connect an RS-232C serial communications
cable, restricted to receive (Rx), transmit (Tx), & DTR(DSR) protocol, to a six
wire, 5 volt serial communications cable. Applications include serial communications between a personal computer COM port via an MB23225 to any robot or microcontroller that provides serial communication at logic voltage levels (+5 volts & ground). |
MS492: Ball Bearing, Standard R/C Servo / Gearhead DC Motor for Robotic Applications.
Servos Starting at $13.95 Click here for Price List. |
|
---|---|
The MS492 can be used as a servo for actuating the joints of robot arms, legs, & hands. User modification permits the MS492 to serve as a reliable gearhead DC motor useful for driving robot wheels & other mechanisms requiring continuous rotary motion. This modification is detailed in the TALRIK IITM Assembly Manual. A modified MS492 runs at 45 rpm & often outperforms gearhead DC motors costing much more. |
(Also look for the new MS1100 BOSS servo with 110 oz.-in. torque at 6v)
SHARP GP1U58Y: 40KHz IR Receiver. Starting at $3.55 Click here for Price List. |
|
---|---|
This infrared sensor responds to 940nm IR modulated at 40KHz & can be used for digital IR communication with a robot, as a non-contact robot "bump" sensor, or as an analog range sensor. A simple hardware "hack" to convert this digital IR sensor to an analog IR range sensor is described in the paper Sharp Sensor Modification ("Hack") for Analog Distance Measurement. Under no input light the maximum power supply current (Icc) into the device is less than 5.0mA. |
DU-BRO Wheels with Treaded Rubber Tires, 2.75in & 3.00in Diameters. As low as $2.19 each Click here for Price List. |
|
---|---|
DuBro wheels provide important support for mobile robot platforms. The soft, flexible, treaded tire of the Du-Bro wheel absorbs shocks & grips the road. Mounting a DU BRO wheel on an MS492 servo horn allows the roboticist to directly drive the wheel from the output shaft of a modified MS492 servo (described above). |
SWPBMT100 Tiny Momentary Tactile Switches $0.95 each |
|
---|---|
Switching force: 100gf, Electrical ratings: 15V, 20ma. Physical Dimensions: 5mm by 5mm by 3mm thick (button not depressed). 5mm by 5mm by 2.5mm thick (button depressed) Pin length: 3mm Pin width: 0.25mm Pin Thickness: 0.05mm (approximate) |
